Connection of the Two Buildings

A new 40 space parking lot has opened for hospital employee parking on the east side of the hospital.  This will provide more room for patient and visitor parking.

Connection of the Two Buildings:  This week construction workers will be bringing the red iron structure up and placing it over the area above the gift shop.  This is the initial step in connecting the new addition to the existing building.  Towards the end of this week, they will be putting in the new elevator shafts and begin pouring the new roof.

A backhoe was used to demolish the front lobby and atrium of Douglas County Hospital. Within two days, the entire lobby of the hospital was taken down and the area was cleaned up.

Next week the floor will be taken off, the basement wall and the foundations will be removed, and they will begin digging footings for the new entrance.
